Getting Ready for HANA requires ABAB Code Fixing
A HANA upgrade is in itself a relatively simple job, but in order to be ready for HANA, SAP users must first fix thousands of code issues, because HANA runs differently than traditional databases.
“Most SAP users are surprised to learn how much code they actually need to fix, before they can upgrade,” says Valton Berisha, Senior ALM Consultant with Concorn. “And that’s only half the problem. The next big headache is actually managing the thousands of minor fixes afterwards.”
ConCorn Partners with Gekkobrain
Gekkobrain, who develops cloud tools for ABAP programmers, recently launched Hanalyzer, a cloud solution to help getting SAP systems ready for HANA upgrades. The partnership between Concorn and Gekkobrain is therefore a strong match, since Concorn has deep understanding of SAP Solution Manager and ALM based on ITIL best practices.
“Hanalyzer is the perfect tool to find out, what needs to be fixed, and how much effort to dedicate,” says Valton Berisha. “So the partnership between Concorn and Gekkobrain is good news for SAP users planning to upgrade to HANA. They get professional consulting and professional tools.”
Gekkobrain is also expecting a lot from the partnership.
“We’re ABAB’ers by heart ourselves, so we understand the process and have felt the pressure ourselves. This is why we developed Hanalyzer, so we could more easily fix the custom code in the projects, we were involved with,” says Joe Strand from Gekkobrain. “And teaming up with Concorn adds immense value to the offering, since their deep understanding of SAP Solution Manager and ALM takes Hanalyzer to new levels.”
Unique Offer: Find Out How Ready You Are For $1,000
Customers could sign up for Hanalyzer and get the answers themselves, but now they can get the entire HANA Readiness report and consultation as a packaged deal.
“By letting us set up the custom code inspections and the connection to Hanalyzer cloud, the client can lean back and let us do the analysis,” says Valton Berisha. “Once completed, we will sit down with the client and go through the results and advice on the best process forward.”
The price is set at $1,000, which is less than a consultant for a day. “It’s really a no-brainer,” explains Valton Berisha. “Any company, who plans on upgrading to SAP HANA within the next year or so, needs to begin preparing now. By spending $1,000 with us, they will know exactly what to fix and how long it will take.”
Promises Fast Results
“Concorn will be able to deliver a HANA readiness report in a few days,” explains Valton Berisha. “We will then go through the result with the client and explain the efforts, they should expect to allocate and why.”
The HANA Readiness Package encompasses everything needed to assess a SAP user’s HANA Readiness:
- Hanalyzer Cloud for 3 months
- Installation of ZHanalyzer extractor in customer’s SAP system
- Filtering for runtime or UPL usage
- Hanalyzer Analysis (result)
